Title: Receptionist

Description: As a Dental Receptionist you are the first point of contact for patients and visitors in a dental office, responsible for a mix of administrative, clerical, and customer service duties to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Management and Customer Service:
Greeting Patients: Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner, helping them feel comfortable, especially if they are anxious.
Check-in and Check-out: Manage patient arrival and departure, ensuring all necessary forms (medical history, HIPAA, etc.) are completed and accurate.
Scheduling Appointments: Book, confirm, reschedule, or cancel appointments using dental practice management software, optimizing the daily schedule for dentists and hygienists.
Answering Inquiries: Handle a high volume of phone calls, emails, and in-person questions regarding treatments, office hours, and billing, directing calls to appropriate staff members when necessary.
Patient Communication: Provide appointment reminders and follow-up calls for future visits or treatment plans.
Billing and Administration:
Payment Processing: Collect payments (co-pays, fees for services) from patients at the time of treatment, issue receipts, and manage daily cash records.
Insurance Coordination: Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, process and file insurance claims, and help patients understand their benefits and financial responsibilities.
Records Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential patient records (electronic and/or physical) in compliance with regulations like HIPAA.
General Office Duties: Perform various administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning/filing documents, sorting mail, and managing office supplies inventory.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: Previous experience in a dental office.
Computer Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, professionalism, empathy, and problem-solving abilities are essential
